Busy Lives, Versatile Spaces, Happy Homes

These days our homes are multipurpose hubs for daily family living, working, learning, and fitness. More than ever, the CAM team is focused on helping clients manifest ease in their houses. Below we’re sharing what we’ve learned about repurposing spaces to increase function and cultivate joy.

Working and learning from home

  • Reclaim corners and under-utilized closets to create learning nooks and quiet working areas.

  • Lighting is key. Adding canned lights, simple fixtures, or no-frills sconces promotes alertness and productivity.

  • Install sliding or pocket doors to increase privacy and create sound barriers.

Maximizing function to create ease in daily routines.

  • Give utilitarian areas a makeover. Sturdy, thoughtfully-considered shelving in laundry rooms, mudrooms, and walk-in pantries reduces clutter and makes household chores more efficient and enjoyable.

  • Your home’s most private spaces—lounge/TV areas, bathrooms, and bedrooms—can be conduits for wellness in your life. Focus on fostering tranquility through tweaking decor, re-painting walls, and paring down surfaces.

  • Outdoor deck and patio areas are the new go-to gathering spots at home. Think of your outdoor spaces simply as exterior rooms. How can you elevate your layout and furnishings to make them more welcoming, cozy, and comfortable?

Don’t hesitate to contact the CAM team to discuss potential home projects. We’d love to hear from you!

Autumn Notes

As October comes to an end, we look to the month ahead with gratitude, joy, and great hope. We are grateful for the trust of longtime and new clients; we celebrate the Sacred in the mundane and beautiful moments of our days; and we hold great hope for a bright future ahead for all.

It’s in this spirit that we’ve rounded up a few notes and ideas that we hope will inspire you this season. Stay well, and thank you for your continued support and business. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

Community Spotlight: Nick Finnegan Counseling Center

Today we’re thrilled to spotlight Nick Finnegan Counseling Center, an organization addressing the immense need for mental health services in our community. NFCC provides high quality, affordable, and accessible counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

In 2019 NFCC selected CAM to remodel their space and build an addition with the vision of enhancing efficiency and flow while working around client appointments and day-to-day operations. The result is one that is functional, soothing, and beautiful—a building that pays tribute to NFCC’s mission and endeavors.

CAM helped turn our vision for the building into a reality. Our new space allows us to serve more people in our community, and we are so grateful! Mary Elizabeth Hand, NFCC Executive Director

NFCC’s Tree of Life Gala will be held virtually on Wednesday, October 7. This year’s gala will honor NFCC’s practicum students for their work providing pro-bono counseling services to at-risk populations at the Salvation Army Family Residence and Young Adult Resource Center and Lanier Middle School. We invite you to tune into the gala on October 7 and bid in the live online auction that is already underway! All proceeds from the event and auction will directly benefit NFCC’s mission of keeping mental health counseling affordable and accessible, a service that is more critical than ever right now.

A Labor Day Note

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17

On Monday we honor American workers and all they contribute to our collective strength and well-being, an observance that feels especially apt this year.

We specifically want to recognize our hard-working trades; the tireless CAM Team; our teachers, newly back at school; and those on the front lines, continuing to labor on behalf of all of us. And to our clients, thank you for entrusting us with the important task of making the residential and commercial spaces in your life both beautiful and functional. Like all of you, we take immense pride in our work and are grateful each day to do what we do.
